LUBBOCK, Texas - The newest Red Raider athletic facilities will be showcased on Tues., Oct. 23, at 2:00 p.m. in a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony held at the new sports complex, located at 3601 10th Street just south of University Medical Center.

Because of the generosity of Rocky Johnson, Don and Ethel McLeod, Bob and Edith Garst, and many others Texas Tech has two of the newest and finest athletic facilities to call home.

Softball started play at Rocky Johnson Field last season, While the McLeod Tennis Center is seeing its first action this weekend hosting the USTA $15,000 futures as well as the Big 12 Tennis Tournament. Garst Plaza will house locker rooms for women's softball and men's and women's tennis as well as proving two rooms for opponents, a concession stand and restrooms.

Coaches and student-athletes from all three sports are scheduled to be in attendance as Tech shows its gratitude for these generous donations.

Admission to the Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies is free and the public in encouraged to attend. In case of inclement weather activities will proceed in the press box, located behind home plate of "The Rock."
