Oct. 22, 2012

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech soccer team, in midst of the best season in school history, will host its regular season finale Friday night at the John Walker Soccer Complex and do so in front of a nationally televised audience.

Friday's match against Big 12 rival Oklahoma State will serve as the NSCAA College Game of the Week and be broadcast nationally on Fox Soccer Channel. First kick for the match is set for 7 p.m.

The announcement that the Red Raiders would play in the weekly showcase on Fox Soccer Channel came this summer and marks the first time Texas Tech has hosted the `College Game of the Week' at the John Walker Soccer Complex.

Friday's match is just one of eight women's college soccer games selected this year to appear on the weekly college soccer showcase.

"We are very honored and excited to host the NSCAA Game of the Week," head coach Tom Stone said. "This is a chance to show to the country our great university, our soccer program and our great fan base. The environment at the John Walker Soccer Complex is truly one of the best in the nation, and I think that will be showcased Friday night."

Texas Tech (13-4-1) enters Friday night after tying the school record for wins in a single season Sunday afternoon in a 3-1 win over Kansas in Lawrence. The Red Raiders are 7-1 this year in games at the John Walker Soccer Complex.
