Tech's Haagsma Named to Capital One Academic All-District Team

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech junior midfielder Hayley Haagsma has been named to the Capital One Academic All-District Second Team as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America on Thursday.
Haagsma, who was named to the Academic All-Big 12 First Team earlier this week, joins a group of elite student-athletes from across the country who have excelled both academically and athletically.
A native of Cerritos, Calif., Haagsma has posted a perfect 4.0 grade point average as a Human Development and Family Studies major at Texas Tech. She was one of seven Big 12 soccer student-athletes to post a perfect 4.0 cumulative grade point average and be named to the Academic All-Big 12 First Team.
On the field, Haagsma has appeared in all 20 games this season with 19 starts helping the Red Raiders to set a new school record with 14 wins in the regular season and most recently a victory over Kansas in the quarterfinals of the Big 12 Championships.
