LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech, on the heels of the most successful season in school history, landed three student-athletes on the National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-Central Region team.

Texas Tech freshman Janine Beckie was tabbed to the first team, while sophomore Jaelene Hinkle earned second team honors and sophomore Paige Strahan was named to the third team.

Beckie was the only freshman to be named to the first team, and is the first Red Raider to be named to the first team in school history.

Beckie, who led the Red Raiders and all Big 12 freshmen with 14 goals on the season, became the program's first NSCAA All-American selection last week. The Highlands Ranch, Colo. native was also tabbed as the Big 12 Rookie of the Year after helping guide Tech to a school record 16 victories and an appearance in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Beckie's 14 goals were the most by a Red Raider since the 1996 season.

Hinkle is appearing on the NSCAA All-Central Region team for the second consecutive season as one of the top defenders in the country. The speedy Denver, Colo. native led Tech, alongside Beckie, with five assists. Hinkle earned third team honors in 2011 as a freshman.

Meanwhile, Strahan provided one of the top storylines of the season for Tech as the Midland, Texas native had breakout sophomore campaign. Strahan ended the year as the second-leading scorer with eight goals - five of which were game-winners. Strahan strung together a five-match scoring streak in September - the longest scoring streak by a Red Raider since 2009.

Beckie and Strahan combined to score 22 goals during the 2012 season.

Texas Tech ended the 2012 campaign ranked No. 25 in the final NSCAA Postseason Coaches poll released Tuesday marking the first national ranking in the program's history.
