LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech junior All-American defender Jaelene Hinkle has been called up by the U.S. U-23 Women's National Team for a weeklong training camp in Sunrise, Calif. beginning Saturday.
The camp is scheduled from Dec. 14-21, and will run concurrently with the U.S. Under-20 Women's National Team Camp with the two squads scheduled to scrimmage during the week.
Hinkle, who was selected to the NSCAA All-America Third Team last week, tallied six assists for the Red Raiders in 2013 as Texas Tech advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
Hinkle has been named to the postseason All-Big 12 team three times in her career - twice as a member of the first team - and is fourth all-time at Texas Tech with 15 career assists. She was the only unanimous selection to the 2013 Preseason All-Big 12 team as voted on by the league coaches.
Texas Tech sophomore forward and 2012 All-American Janine Beckie recently attended the U.S. U-20 Women's National Team training camp held Nov. 23 - Dec. 1 in Carson Calif.
Texas Tech went 18-2-3 in 2013, including a 10-1 mark at the John Walker Soccer Complex.
