Softball Begins Second Season With WinsNACOGDOCHES, Texas -- The Texas Tech softball team began only its second season of existence with a pair of wins against Stephen F. Austin, Saturday afternoon. The Red Raiders won the first contest 4-0 and also took the nightcap 7-4. The story of game one was the pitching of Tech's Emily Hayes, who allowed only five hits in the shutout of the Ladyjacks. The Red Raiders also had a balanced attack on offense, as three players recorded three hits. In game two, Texas Tech seemed to be in control from the outset, scoring five runs in the first half inning of play. The Ladyjacks battled back, cutting the lead to one after scoring a run in the first and three in the third. But that was all the offense that SFA could muster, and the Red Raiders earned the 7-4 win to improve to 2-0 on the season. Game One Texas Tech 200 100 1 - 4 8 0 Stephen F.
