Brooke Reed enters her second season with the Texas Tech softball program after being named the director of operations in October 2013.
In her role, Reed oversees the day-to-day functions of the program, including all travel arrangements. She is also the point person for the business office and other departments within Texas Tech Athletics.
Reed, a native of Lake Charles, Louisiana, joined the Tech staff after spending the 2013 season as an assistant coach at Mississippi Valley State where she helped lead the Devilettes to the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Tournament title and a trip to the NCAA Mobile Regional.
Reed, who coached infielders and hitters while at Mississippi Valley, joined the program after a year as the volunteer assistant coach at her alma mater, Western Kentucky.
She played two seasons for the Hilltoppers where she served as a co-captain and led the team in runs scored and hits during her 2009 junior season. Western Kentucky combined to go 62-44 during her two seasons.
Reed transferred to Western Kentucky after playing two years at Birmingham-Southern College where she led the Panthers in both stolen bases and runs scored as a freshman.
Reed is the daughter of Richard and Jeanne Reed, who both still reside in the Lake Charles area.
