Helped lead the Red Raiders offensively during her freshman campaign ... appeared in 54 games while making 51 starts normally as the designated player ... put her name in the Texas Tech single-season record book after hitting .361 with nine home runs and 44 RBI ... ended the year ranked tied for eighth all-time for batting average and ninth for RBI ... finished just outside the top-10 for home runs as well ... led the Red Raiders in several offensive categories, including home runs, RBI, slugging percentage and sacrifice flies ... finished tied for second on the team with 14 multiple-hit games and tied for third with seven multiple-RBI performances ... drove in at least one run in 25 games overall ... first career multiple-hit game came Feb. 14 with a 2-for-2 performance against Northern Colorado ... was one of three multiple-hit games during the Troy Cox Classic ... opened the following weekend by going 3-for-4 with a then season-high four RBI at UT Arlington ... connected on her first career home run against the Mavericks with a three-run shot in the fifth inning ... her four RBI single-handily led Tech to a 4-1 victory over UTA ... topped that RBI total just over a week later by driving in seven runs on March 1 against Rhode Island ... connected on two home runs - both in the first inning - in the 12-1 rout ... started the opening frame with a three-run bomb before blasting a grand slam later in the inning ... helped drive in seven of Tech's 10 runs in the inning ... her seven RBI were just one shy of the Texas Tech single-game record ... final multiple-RBI performance of non-conference play came March 15 against UNLV ... finished 2-for-3 against the Rebels with three RBI ... was one of her three multiple-hit games during Texas Tech's trip to the state of California ... also made nine appearances in the circle for the Red Raiders ... each of her appearances came in relief en route to totaling 12.1 innings ... failed to earn a decision on the year after compiling a 3.41 ERA ... longest outing of the year came with 2.2 innings of relief on March 14 against Canisius ... did not allow an earned run in six of her nine appearances ... KINGWOOD HIGH SCHOOL
Four-year starter for Kingwood High School in the Houston area ... one of the top players in the state at both the plate and in the circle ... will see time at both with the Red Raiders ... helped lead Kingwood to the class 5A state title game as a senior ... Mustangs fell to Lewisville, 3-2, in the title game despite a strong performance from McClure ... finished 4-for-6 in the state tournament with a home run ... drove in five RBI in the state semifinal win over Deer Park ... was also solid in the circle as well, making the start in both games ... Kingwood ended the year 35-4 overall ... named the Texas Girls Coaches Association (TGCA) Softball 4A-5A Player of the Year for 2013 ... an all-state selection by both the TGCA and Texas Sports Writers Association (TSWA) ... earned MVP honors of District 13-5A ... was previously the MVP of District 14-5A as a junior and District 19-5A as a freshman ... District 14-5A Offensive Player of the Year as a junior ... was a first team all-district selection all four years ... honored on the All-Greater Houston Area first team as both a junior and senior ... named the team MVP all four years with the varsity ... finished her prep career hitting over .440 with 30 home runs, nine of which that came as a junior and 10 as a senior ... Kingwood's single-season and career leader in home runs ... hit over .400 during all four seasons ... effective in the circle with a 23-3 record and 1.24 earned-run average as a senior ... ended her prep career 79-41 in the circle ... selected to the TGCA All-Star Game in 2013 ... played alongside current teammate Sydni Emanuel in the game ... member of the Texas Impact Gold travel team that was annually one of the best in the nation ... Triple Crown All-American ... played with another current teammate Brittany Lee in the Triple Crown All-American game prior to enrolling at Tech.
Cassie McClure ... born to parents Tony and Debbie McClure ... is an only child ... father works for Exxon Mobil while mother is self-employed ... taking courses to prepare for nursing school ... also a psychology minor ... hopes to eventually work as a nurse practitioner in an emergency room.
