After serving the team in 2007 as a part-time administrative assistant for the softball team, Julie Hauck joined the staff full time as its Director of Softball Operations prior to the 2008 season. She is no stranger to the program as she competed as a pitcher for the Red Raiders from 2004-2006 and still ranks among the program's best in many pitching categories, including wins and saves. Hauck transferred to Tech after spending her freshman season at Florida State in 2003. An extremely organized, hard-working professional, Hauck helps solve a variety of issues related to the business side of coaching a Division I program.
The entrepreneur began a softball instruction business specializing in individual lessons or clinic-style formats with former Texas Tech teammate, Erin Crawford, immediately after graduation and is a popular softball teacher in west Texas.
Also a tutor for Texas Tech Athletic Academic Services, Hauck works with many student-athletes in a wide array of business classes, math, and English. She graduated magna cum laude from Texas Tech with a bachelor of business administration in management in August of 2006 and, working in conjunction Michelle Brigham the team's senior academic counselor, will help direct the academic progress of the team while the Red Raiders are on the road.
Hauck, who hails from Yukon, Okla., lives in Lubbock with her terrific dog, Jager, and her two cats, Perja and Lexi, and believes Lubbock is a wonderful place to live, work, tutor, and run a business on the side!
