Leah Legler returns to the Texas Tech softball program after a year away, joining Shanon Hays and staff as the volunteer assistant coach.
As part of her duties, Legler will assist associate head coach Aly Sartini with the team's outfielders while also helping with the program's hitting and baserunning instruction.
Legler previously starred for the Red Raiders from 2007-10, finishing her career by leading the Red Raiders back to an NCAA Regional her senior year, Tech's first postseason appearance since 2001.
A Houston, Texas native, Legler remains a fixture in the Tech record book as she is still among the top 10 in several single-season and career categories. She wrapped her four-year career with a .312 batting average while playing as Tech's everyday shortstop.
Legler is a 2010 graduate of Texas Tech with a degree in accounting.
