FRESHMAN SEASON (2011)
Was Tech's only player to both pitch and play in the field ... appeared in 40 games overall including 12 starts ... 21 of those games have come in the circle ... picked up two starts in the circle as well ... been used primarily as a reliever ... has also pinch run frequently ... scored 13 runs on the year while compiling a .281 average ... 5-for-5 on stolen base attempts ... driven in three runs as well ... in the circle, has pitched 52.2 innings, posting a 5-2 record ... tossed her first career no-hitter against Alcorn State on March 13 ... became only the fourth player in school history to do so ... came back less than a week later to go 2-for-3 at the plate against Utah Valley on Feb. 19 ... was her only multiple-hit game of the year ... went 8.2 innings in relief in Tech's come-from-behind win over Liberty ... the longest outing for any Tech pitcher this season ... currently has three saves, which is tied for the Big 12 lead ... inherited 24 runners in relief with only six of those scoring ... HIGH SCHOOL
A four-year all-district selection at Midway High School in Waco ... played for a very successful program at Midway ... teammate of current Red Raider Holley Gentsch as a freshman and sophomore ... team advanced to the regional quarterfinals in 2007 and 2009 after a state semifinalist appearance in 2008 ... squad won the Class 4A State Championship in 2010 ... pitched a no-hitter in the game to go along with 15 strikeouts ... also had the game-winning RBI off a double in the 1-0 victory ... was named the tournament MVP ... profiled by ESPN Rise as the website's Player of the Month in June 2010 following the tournament performance ... finished her senior season with a 31-1-1 record on the mound with a 0.36 ERA ... also stuck out 428 batters and 20 shutouts ... six of those shutouts were no-hitters and 11 were one-hitters ... hit .413 at the plate with a .504 on-base percentage ... named the district MVP in both her junior and senior seasons ... was on the Waco Tribune Super Centex team her final three seasons ... was the Super Centex Player of the Year those years as well ... All-State selection her sophomore, junior, and senior seasons ... Class 4A Player of the Year her senior year ... was also a member of the basketball team that won the state title in 2009.

Born May 2, 1992 ... father is Kermit Ward and grandmother is Robbie Walker ... father is a high school principal and graduate of Baylor ... grandmother is a retired VA supervisor ... father was an All-American sprinter at Baylor ... has 12 brothers and sisters ... majoring in psychology with a minor in communications ... hopes to become a sports psychologist.
