TEXAS TECH TEAM NOTES
This was the second all-time meeting between Texas Tech and Louisville. The Red Raiders won the first meeting on Feb. 13, 2005, with a 5-4 victory at the UNLV Tournament in Las Vegas.
The loss drops Texas Tech to 54-208 all-time against ranked opponents and 12-24 under head coach Shanon Hays.
Texas Tech's six runs marked its most in a loss since falling to No. 19 Texas A&M, 9-6, in the first game of an April 17 doubleheader last year.
The Red Raiders had not previously allowed an opponent to score in double digits since giving up 14 to Northwestern on Feb. 10 last year, which was also the second game of the season.
Texas Tech put four runs across for the second-straight game as the Red Raiders also did so earlier in the day against Central Florida.
The Red Raiders finished with 18 hits on the day with nine in each game.
