The loss dropped the Red Raiders to 10-2 all-time at the Kajikawa Classic under head coach Shanon Hays. It marked Tech's first loss at the event since falling to Auburn, 6-1, in 2010.
Tech's seven walks issued in the game were its most since the Red Raiders issued a school record 10 to Arizona last year in the finale of the NCAA Tucson Regional.
Ryba also had another strong performance at the plate, finishing 2-for-4 at the plate with a RBI. The junior is the only Tech player to have at least two hits in both games so far.
Adriana Perez drove in two runs from the DP spot as the junior now has 3 RBI through two games this year. She finished 1-for-3 at the plate.
Despite only going six innings, the game last 2 hours and 32 minutes.
Tech's three errors in the game marked the school's most since also committing three against New Mexico State last year in the opener of the NCAA Tucson Regional.
Tech's 14 runs surrendered were its most since giving up 18 to Texas in consecutive games last year.
