TEXAS TECH TEAM NOTES The contest was the fifth all-time between Texas Tech and Colorado State. With the win, the Rams now control a 3-2 advantage over the Red Raiders. The loss dropped Texas Tech to 16-16 all-time when traveling to Las Cruces, N.M. for tournament action. The loss marked Tech's second in a row leading into an afternoon contest against UMKC. The Red Raiders (3-3) had not previously lost consecutive non-conference games since the opening weekend of the 2012 season when Tech was downed by No. 9 Stanford, No. 14 Tennessee and then Cal Poly in the Kajikawa Classic. Texas Tech was held without a home run for just the second time this season. The Red Raiders came into the tournament having already hit six home runs this year. The Red Raiders failed to score in the opening inning for only the second time in six games this season. Tech had plated four runs in the first inning in three games entering this weekend's tournament. Taylor Powell Samantha Camello Shelby Johnson
