• Texas Tech won via run-rule for the third-straight game and for the fourth time this season.
• The game marked the fourth all-time meeting between Texas Tech and Penn State as both schools are now 2-2 against each other.
• Texas Tech's 14 runs in the game matched its season high set just a day before against UMKC. It also marked the fifth time in just nine games where the Red Raiders have scored at least 10 runs.
• Texas Tech's three-game streak with at least 10 runs is its longest since defeating Dayton twice (11-0 & 10-0) and Howard once (10-0) on March 5-6, 2011, during the Red Raider Classic. It is tied for the longest such streak in school history.
• With two wins on Saturday, Texas Tech is now 19-16 all-time when traveling to Las Cruces for tournament action.
• Texas Tech totaled six home runs over two games Saturday, giving the Red Raiders 14 now on the season after just nine games. The Red Raiders are 5-2 when hitting a home run this season.

Adriana Perez
• Perez wrapped a career day at the plate where she totaled four home runs over two games along with 11 RBI. The senior now has a team-leading seven home runs in just nine games along with 18 RBI.
• Perez recorded two home runs in consecutive games for the second time in her career as she also did so against Seton Hall and Midwestern State on March 18 and March 27 last year.
• It was also the fourth time in Perez' career where she had two home runs in a game and the 16th time in Texas Tech school history.
• The four home runs give Perez now 22 for her career, moving her into sole possession of fifth place in the Texas Tech record book as she passed both Jennifer Corkin (2005-08) and Raven Richardson (2010-12) who totaled 21 home runs in their careers.

Shelby Johnson
• Johnson reached base for the ninth-straight game as she was 2-for-3 against Penn State with a season-high three runs scored. It marked her third multiple-hit game already this season.

Katelyn Williams
• Williams homered in back-to-back games for the first time in her career as she followed Perez home runs with solo shots against both UMKC and Penn State. It marked the third home run of the season already for Williams and the fourth of her career.

Sandy James
• James uncorked a bases-loaded double against UMKC that drove in three runs, marking her fourth multiple-RBI game already this season. James also had a RBI double against Penn State, giving her 14 for the season and 121 for her career. She snapped the Texas Tech career record Friday afternoon with five RBI against UMKC.

Brittany Talley
• Talley tossed her first complete game of the season and her 16th of her career as she went all five innings against Penn State. She is now in sole possession of ninth all-time in the Texas Tech record book with her 16 career complete games.

Gretchen Aucoin
• After earning her first career victory in the circle earlier in the day against UMKC, Aucoin continued to be a presence at the plate as she recorded a hit for the third-straight game. The freshman finished 2-for-3 with a RBI against the Nittany Lions, marking her second career multiple-hit game.

Sydnie Tapia
• Tapia became the first Red Raider to record a triple this season as she drove in Taylor Powell with a shot off the center field fence in the third inning against Penn State.
