Brokeshoulder's shutout was her first since blanking Baylor on April 5 of last year in Waco. The sophomore has not allowed a run in 8.1 innings this year.
Tech head coach Shanon Hays made his first lineup change of the season, inserting Taylor Powell (shortstop) and Kermitria Ward (right field) into the No. 8 and 9 slots. Cydney Allen got the start behind the plate, while Sandy James moved to the designated player position.
In her first collegiate start, Powell had a big game at the plate, finishing 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored. Powell came in earlier in the day as a defensive replacement.
McKenzie Clemmons capitalized on a pinch hit opportunity, nailing her first career triple down the right field line.
Stephanie Drewry is now riding a six-game hit streak. The junior finished 1-for-1 at the plate with two RBIs before being removed for Clemmons.
Despite being a regular out of the Tech bullpen, Ward made her first career start in right field. The speedy freshman finished 1-for-3 at the plate with a run scored and an RBI.
