POWAY, Calif. - Stanford's Becky Blevins tossed a three-hit shutout Thursday to lead the Stanford Cardinal to a 1-0 softball win over Texas Tech during the first day of the Campbell/Cartier Classic.

Stanfird scored the game's lone run in the bottom of the sixth inning, when a two-out double from Jessica Mendoza drove home Michelle Schneider. Tech pitcher Amanda Renfro yielded six hits, no walks, and struck out four.

Kim Martinez, Aimee Weathers, and Paula Workman each collected one hit for the Red Raiders.

Texas Tech faces Long Beach State Friday afternoon beginning at 4:00 p.m. central time.
