• Texas Tech was playing just its second true road game as the Red Raiders were previously 0-1 when facing an opponent on its home field with an 8-6 loss last Sunday at New Mexico State.
• The game marked just the 13th time in Shanon Hays' tenure where the Red Raiders have played on a Thursday night. Texas Tech is now 9-4 during that time.
• Texas Tech's performance in the circle tonight marked the fourth time in the first 11 games of the season where the Red Raiders have held their opponent to two or less runs. Tech is now 4-0 in such games this year and 99-10 all-time under Shanon Hays.
• The Red Raiders scored in the opening inning for the fifth time this season. Texas Tech is now 4-1 this year when scoring in the opening frame and 91-20 under Shanon Hays.
Gretchen Aucoin's seven strikeouts marked the second-most by the Texas Tech pitching staff this season. The Red Raiders also struck out seven on Feb. 14 against Weber State and Feb. 7 against Nicholls State.

Cassie McClure finished with a season-high four RBI in a 3-for-4 performance at the plate that included a three-run homer that gave Texas Tech the lead in the fifth inning. The home run was the first of McClure's career as she is the third Red Raider freshmen to connect on a long ball this season, joining Sydni Emanuel and Kierra Miles.
• McClure's 3-for-4 performance at the plate marked her fourth multiple-hit game this year. Her four RBI matched the most for a Red Raider this season (tying Sydni Emanuel) as it was McClure's first career multiple-RBI performance.
Gretchen Aucoin tossed her first complete game of the season and the fourth of her career, allowing just one run to UT Arlington off five hits while striking out a season-high seven hitters. It was the first time Aucoin had gone a full seven innings in her career.
Kierra Miles finished 2-for-4 at the plate for her third multiple-hit game this season. Miles has now reached base in all 10 games she's appeared in this season.
Lea Hopson continued her streak of reaching base with a fifth inning walk. Hopson is the only Red Raider to reach base in all 11 games this season.
Samantha Camello connected on her second double of the season to extend her hitting streak to four games after a 1-for-2 performance that also included a walk.
Sydni Emanuel extended her hitting streak to eight games with a first-pitch double down the left field line to start the game. The hitting streak is the longest for any Red Raider this season.
• Emanuel also stole her team-leading ninth stolen base of the year in the third inning. She is now 9-for-10 in stolen base attempts this year after being caught stealing in the seventh inning for the first time this season.
Kady Crow earned her third start of the season behind the plate.
