TEXAS TECH TEAM NOTES
• Texas Tech recorded its best tournament performance of the season, finishing the UTA Hilton Invitational with a 4-1 record to improve to 10-5 on the season.
• Texas Tech's 10-5 record through the first 15 games matches its same start from the 2013 season where the Red Raiders recorded 30 wins for the fourth-straight season.
• Texas Tech's win in the opener improved the Red Raiders to 4-1 all-time against Illinois. It was the first meeting between the two schools since the 2009 season.
• The Illinois game marked the first time the Red Raiders had played an extra-inning game this year and the first time since falling, 2-1, at Oklahoma State on March 29 last year.
• Texas Tech improved to 9-5 all-time under head coach Shanon Hays in extra-inning games.
• Texas Tech's game against Creighton on Friday marked the first ever meeting between the two schools. The Red Raiders are now 1-1 all-time against the Bluejays.
• Texas Tech was shut out against Creighton for just the second time this year. Buffalo also tossed a shutout against the Red Raiders on Feb. 8 this year in the Lions Classic.
• The Red Raiders are now 44-23 all-time under Shanon Hays in shutouts.
• The Red Raiders out-hit Creighton, 4-2, in the tournament finale. Texas Tech was previously 128-10 all-time under Shanon Hays when out-hitting its opponent.
• The Red Raiders moved to 3-3 this season in one-run games and 27-17 all-time under Shanon Hays.
• Texas Tech had two sacrifice flies against Illinois, its most in a game since also totaling two against Northern Colorado on March 3 last year.
• Texas Tech's three stolen bases against Creighton matched its season high set in the season opener against Akron as well as Friday afternoon against UMKC.

TEXAS TECH PLAYER NOTES
Gretchen Aucoin combined for 10 total innings on Saturday, picking up the win in relief against Illinois before suffering the loss in a dominating outing against Creighton. Aucoin did not allow an earned run all day while allowing just three hits while striking out 17 in both games.
• Aucoin matched her career-high with nine strikeouts against Creighton. She previously had nine strikeouts on March 9 last year against UMKC. It also marked a season high for Aucoin, who previously set the mark earlier in the day with eight strikeouts against Illinois.
Sydni Emanuel extended her hitting streak to 12 games, which is the longest such run for a Red Raider since Adriana Perez hit safely in 14-straight games in 2012.
Lea Hopson continued to reach base again on Saturday as she went 1-for-3 against Illinois before going 0-for-2 against Creighton while drawing a walk. Hopson is the only Red Raider to reach base in all 15 games this season.
• Hopson added two stolen bases in the two games as she is now a perfect 10-for-10 in attempts this season. She trails Sydni Emanuel by one stolen base for the team high. Hopson went 6-for-6 during the UTA Hilton Invitational alone.
Brittany Talley's start against Illinois marked her 107th career appearance as a Red Raider. She passed Emily Hayes (1996-99) for fifth all-time in the Texas Tech career record book.
Kristi Belshe extended her hitting streak to seven games by going 1-for-4 against Illinois. Her hitting streak came to an end against Creighton, however. It was the second-longest hitting streak for a Red Raider this year.
Cassie McClure posted Texas Tech's top average over the weekend as she hit .467 (7-for-15) with a home run and five RBI.
