The win guarantees Texas Tech the Jeannine McHaney Memorial Classic title as the Red Raiders sit 4-0 on the weekend, while Northern Illinois is 2-2 and Wichita State and St. John's are both 1-3 overall.
Prior to tonight's win, Tech's previous longest win streak was 15-straight games from Feb. 13-March 14 of last year. Tech snapped the streak in a 5-2 loss to Wichita State, Sunday's opponent.
Tech also matched the longest home winning streak in school history of 10 games. The record was set during the Red Raiders' 15-game win streak last year.
The Red Raiders have now ended the last seven of nine games by run rule. Tech went the full seven innings against St. John's Friday night and against Utah Valley on Feb. 19.
With no home runs in the game, Tech snapped a five-game streak with at least one home run in a game. The Red Raiders crushed four dingers in their earlier game against St. John's.
Logan Hall picked up her 16th RBI of the weekend after a single in the second scored Emily Bledsoe. She has had at least one RBI in Tech's last five games. Her 16 RBIs match her season total coming into the tournament as well.
Raven Richardson saw her career-high 10-game hit streak come to an end as the junior infielder went 0-for-2 at the plate with a walk.
Kelsey Dennis threw her first career shutout in a Red Raider uniform. The southpaw went five shutout innings, giving up six hits while striking out one.
