  • The Texas Tech pitching staff put together its fifth-straight shutout, giving the Red Raiders eight total on the year. Prior to this streak, the school record for most consecutive shutouts was three-straight games set last in 2001.

  • Raven Richardson finished 3-for-3 at the plate in the game with three RBIs and a run scored. It marks her seventh multiple-RBI game of the year and five with multiple hits.

  • Tech has now ended each of its last eight games in the fifth inning by run rule, moving the Red Raiders' total for the year to 14 games. The school record for most games ended by run rule is 18 set in 1997.

  • Mikey Kenney added her ninth multiple-hit game of the year after a 2-for-3 day at the plate and three RBIs. She added her Big 12-leading 11th double in the second inning

  • The win moves Ashley Brokeshoulder into the team lead for most victories on the season. Brokeshoulder is currently 7-0 this year with a 2.52 ERA. Brittany Talley (6-0) is expected to get the ball for Tech's second game of the day against Howard.

  • Cydney Allen's home run to lead off the second inning was her team-leading sixth of the season. Allen finished 1-for-1 at the plate with two RBIs as she also drew a walk and a sacrifice fly.
