Recap |  Box Score

  • The win guaranteed Tech the Masked Rider Invitational title as the Red Raiders are 4-1 this weekend heading into the doubleheader finale against Evansville.
  • Kermitria Ward joins Brittany Talley in the Texas Tech record book as the two freshmen have both thrown no-hitters this year. Prior to this season, Tech's last no-hitter came on March 10, 2001 when Amanda Renfro threw a perfect game against Penn State.
  • Ward is the fifth Tech pitcher to record a no-hitter, joining Talley, Renfro, Emily Hayes, and Jenny Cannon. Renfro leads the group with three during her career.
  • Ward's five innings pitched surpassed her previous high of 4.2 innings of relief work earlier this year against Appalachian State.
  • Sandy James crushed a home run for the fourth-consecutive game in the second inning, belting a three-run to left field. James now has six home runs this week to go with 23 RBIs.
  • Randi Tongate finished 2-for-3 at the plate while matching her career high with three RBIs. It marked her first three RBI game since facing North Carolina Central on March 13 of last season.
  • Emily Bledsoe extended her hitting streak to 11 games after a 1-for-2 day at the plate that included two runs scored and two RBIs. She was replaced in the third inning by Kristen Reeves, who also added a hit in the game.
  • Six Tech players (Bledsoe, James, Logan Hall, Raven Richardson, Taylor Powell, Tongate) had at least two RBIs during the game. All but one Tech starter (Ashley Hamada) had an RBI during the game. Hamada scored a run off 1-for-2 day at the plate before she was replaced by Meredith Heath during the third inning.
