Tech is now 4-0 all-time against Jacksonville as the two schools were facing each other for the first time since the 2007 season.
Cydney Allen's grand slam was her team-leading 11th home run of the season. It marked her first career grand slam in a Tech uniform and the fifth one of the season for the Red Raiders. Raven Richardson hit Tech's last grand slam in game two of a doubleheader against New Mexico on March 9.
Allen's home run also moved Tech to 40 dingers for the year, snapping last year's school record total of 39.
The Red Raiders' five runs in the game moves the team one shy of matching the single-season school record of 258 that was set in 1997.
Kelsey Dennis went the full seven innings for the first time in a Tech uniform as her previous high was 6.2 innings against New Mexico on March 9. The junior college transfer has allowed only four runs in her last eight outings that covers 40.1 total innings.
Emily Bledsoe saw her career-high 13 game hitting streak come to an end as the junior finished 0-for-1 at the plate with two walks and a hit by pitch.
