CLEARWATER, Fla. - Kelsey Dennis gave up one run over seven innings while Emily Bledsoe and Sandy James both added home runs to give No. 21 Texas Tech a 3-1 victory Saturday over Chattanooga in the USF The Game Tournament at the Eddie C. Moore Complex.

Following two quick outs to start the bottom half of the first, Bledsoe got Tech on the scoreboard first, drilling a fly ball over the fence in straightaway centerfield, giving Tech the early lead. The dinger was Bledsoe's second of the season.

Chattanooga tied the game back up in the second as the Mocs loaded the bases with no outs. Vivian Morimoto dropped a bloop single in from of Mikey Kenney in center to score one run, but Dennis settled down to retire the next three hitters in order, ending the rally.

James put the Red Raiders back in the lead a few innings later with her one-out, two-run home run to left. The dinger was James' 11th of the year, tying Cydney Allen for the team lead.

Dennis (10-0) kept the Chattanooga bats at bay from there as the junior recorded her second-straight complete game, giving up seven hits while matching her season high of nine strikeouts.

Michelle Fuzzard (8-4) took the loss for Chattanooga after allowing three runs over four innings off four hits and two walks. Kandice Irwin pitched two shutout innings in relief.

The win improved Tech to 33-1 on the year heading into the second game of a doubleheader against Boston University. Chattanooga drops to 18-7 overall.
