March 26, 2011
The loss was Tech's first since falling, 4-2, to Alcorn State on March 12 and is only the second of the season for the Red Raiders.
Tech's one run in the game marked a season-low as the Red Raiders had previously been held to two runs once in their 4-2 loss to Alcorn State on March 12. Tech's three hits in the game were also a season low.
The Red Raiders' three hits were their lowest since connecting on only three against Oklahoma on May 15 last year in the Big 12 Championship.
Raven Richardson's solo home run in the third inning was her seventh of the season. The junior also had an active day in the field with three putouts and four assists.
Tech is now 2-1 this season against ranked opponents and 8-12 under second-year head coach Shanon Hays.
The Red Raiders are now 6-25 in Big 12 play series openers. Tech will get a chance to split the opening weekend of conference play for the second-straight year Sunday afternoon.
