The win marked the first time Texas Tech has defeated Oklahoma in Lubbock. The Red Raiders were previously 0-12 at home against the Sooners. OU still leads the overall series, 30-6.
With her two-run double in the first inning, Emily Bledsoe has now reached base in 38 of Texas Tech's 39 games this year. She finished 1-for-3 in the game with her two RBIs and a run scored.
The Red Raiders improved to 9-13 against ranked opponents under head coach Shanon Hays and 3-2 this season.
Kelsey Dennis threw her first shutout since Tech defeated Evansville, 8-0, on March 13. She has given up two or less hits in three of her five shutouts this season. Her only two hits surrendered both came against OU leadoff hitter Destinee Martinez.
Texas Tech has now gone 27.2-straight innings without an error as the Red Raiders have been clean in the field over their last four games dating back to the third inning against Boston University on March 19. Tech has not had an error in seven of its last eight games as well.
Holley Gentsch was the only Red Raiders with more than one hit in the game as the junior finished 2-for-3 at the plate with an RBI.
Shanon Hays shuffled his lineup prior to the game as Logan Hall batted leadoff and Mikey Kenney moved to the No. 3 hole with Emily Bledsoe then falling down a couple spots to fifth in the order. It marked the first game this season Kenney had not led off for the Red Raiders.
