Late Red Raider Rally Blows Tech Past Iowa State, 3-1|

AMES, Iowa - In the top of the seventh inning with two outs and the count two-two, senior Lisa Lawler smashes her second career homerun over left field scoring teammates Heather Parker and Natalie Kula to blow the Red Raiders past Iowa State, 3-1. Tech is now 21-11 on the season and 1-2 in Big 12. Iowa State falls to 12-15 on the season and 0-3 in Big 12.
Iowa State scored early as they posted their solo run in the first inning when Katie Reichling doubled to right field scoring Jessica Quade.
In the seventh inning, Tech had two outs when Parker singled through the right side. Sophomore Brandy Moulin pinch hit for Kula and also singled to right field, Kula entered back in to run. Tech had runners on first and second when Lawler hit her first homerun this season.
Junior Erin Crawford pitched the complete game for the Red Raiders, advancing her record to 12-5. Crawford had three strikeouts and two walks for the game. Alyssa Ransom pitched the entire game for Iowa State and fell to 6-10 on the season.
The Red Raiders and Cyclones will battle again on Sun., April 3 at noon.
