COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Jessica Slataper fanned 10 Red Raiders Wednesday evening in the first game of a Big 12 Conference doubleheader with Texas A&M at the Aggie Softball Complex in College Station, Texas, as A&M downed Tech, 3-0.

Three days after throwing a one-hit one-walk shutout over Oklahoma State, freshman Kristina Blair got the nod against the 24th ranked Texas A&M Aggies. Things did not start as well this time out as the lead off hitter reached on a bunt single. With one out Adrian Gregory singled between first and second advancing Lisa Klam to third. Gregory was erased at second on an attempted steal which would prove to be costly as with two out in the inning Selena Ferguson doubled to the right-center gap giving the Aggies a 1-0 lead after one inning.

Tech (12-29, 1-8 Big 12) lived dangerously over the next couple of innings as Blair issued four walks during the third and fourth innings before being replaced by Jennifer Vaught with one out and runners on first and second in the fourth. Vaught was immediately called for an illegal pitch, advancing the runners. Nicole Robertson would ground out to short and Crystal Martin would walk setting up a bases loaded situation.

Red Raider shortstop Kristi Robles made a diving stab and just missed gunning out Klam at first, as the Aggies took a 2-0 lead into the fifth.

Texas A&M (31-10, 4-5 Big 12) would tack on a single run in the fifth when Kelly Ferguson belted a solo shot over the leftfield wall.

Slapater retired the side in order in the seventh in earning her 16th win of the season while Blair drops to 6-9.
