Final Stats

LUBBOCK, Texas - Erin Mahoney went 3-for-4 with three singles as the 16th ranked Texas Longhorns completed the two-game sweep, 2-0, of the Texas Tech Red Raiders Wednesday afternoon at Rocky Johnson Field in Lubbock, Texas.

Texas (39-10, 12-1 Big 12) scored a run in the first and one in the second as it jumped out on the Red Raiders 2-0. Lindsey Gardner led off the game with a double and later scored on a Erin Mahoney single. In the second, Melissa Martin singled with one out and then stole second. Tiffany Anders' double moved Martin to third and a wild pitch allowed her to score the second run of the game.

Tech (12-36, 1-13 Big 12) managed just two hits and four base runners as the Longhorn pitching duo of Amy Bradford and Cat Osterman combined for the 14th shutout thrown against the Red Raiders this season.

Junior Maggie Ayres tossed her third complete game of the season allowing just one earned run while scattering eight Longhorn hits and walking none.

Texas Tech will travel to Columbia, Mo., for its final road trip of the season this weekend to take on the Missouri Tigers and will close out the 2002 regular season at home against Nebraska on April 26 and 27.
