The 837 fans in attendance marked the third-largest crowd to watch a game at Rocky Johnson Field in school history. Tech set the stadium record earlier this year with 1,248 fans on hand to see the Red Raiders face Missouri on March 27.
Texas' seven home runs marked the most surrendered by the Tech pitching staff during a single game in school history. The previous mark of four was last matched on April 13 in the first game of a doubleheader against Kansas.
The game marked the first time Tech had been run ruled in five innings since falling at Oklahoma State, 8-0, on May 3, 2009.
Tech had not been run-ruled in five innings at home since dropping a 12-0 decision to Missouri on April 18, 2009.
The game marks only the second game to not go seven innings during head coach Shanon Hays' two seasons. The Red Raiders were run-ruled by Missouri in a 10-1 loss earlier this year on March 27.
