AUSTIN, Texas - The Red Raiders split a midweek Big 12 doubleheader with No. 6 Texas as Tech won 2-0 in 10.0 innings before losing the second game 3-0. In Tech's game one victory, the Red Raiders defeated 2004 Olympian gold medalist Cat Osterman as she gave up only one hit to Tech.

Tech is now 23-22 this season and 3-13 in Big 12 and with this win over Texas, Tech breaks its 10-game losing streak. Texas is 35-10 overall and 9-5 in conference while the Horns suffered its first back-to-back losses of the season.

In game two, Texas took the early lead as Jacqueline Williams hit a homerun over left field and then MicKalyla Padilla singled to bring Wynet Turner home, who reached on a single. Then in the sixth inning, Jaclyn Davis pinch hit and connected for a double to score Williams, who had singled to left field. Texas freshman pitcher, Megan Denny threw her second career no-hitter as she threw 15 strikeouts and one walk. Julie Hauck received the loss for Tech as she is 1-8 on the season. Hauck allowed six hits, three walks while striking out six batters. Keely Tucker threw one inning of relief giving up three hits, one walk and one strikeout.

Tech will end 2005 Big 12 play at home at Rocky Johnson Field against Kansas on Saturday, April 30 at 2 p.m. and Sunday, May 1 at noon. The Red Raiders will then head to Oklahoma City to compete in the Big 12 Conference Tournament.
