LUBBOCK, Texas - In front of the largest crowd of the season at Rocky Johnson Field, the Kansas Jayhawks defeated the Red Raiders, 3-0. Tech is now 23-23 on the season and 3-14 in Big 12 while Kansas is 27-19 overall and 6-7 in conference.

Kansas scored first in the third inning as Heather Stanley knocked in Nicole Washburn with a single to left field. The Jayhawks advanced the score to 3-0 in the fourth inning when pitcher Serena Settlemier hit a homerun to left center as scoring Destiny Frankenstein who had got on base with a double to right center.

The Red Raiders had three hits, two from sophomore Natalie Kula as she singled with a bunt to first base and singled to left field and then a double from freshman Jennifer Bowers.

Junior Erin Crawford started the game for Tech and received the loss as she is now 14-11. Crawford threw four innings totaling six hits, three runs and two strikeouts. Freshman Sarah Losleben pitched two innings of relief with one hit, one walk and one strikeout. Senior Keely Tucker pitched the final inning for Tech as she had two hits.

The Red Raiders will look to split the series with Kansas on Sunday, May 1, with the first pitched slated for noon.
