Softball Announces Alumni Reunion|
Jan. 15, 2009
LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech softball announced today that Saturday, April 4, has been designated Alumni Reunion Day, and extends an invitation to all former members of the Red Raider softball program to attend. The event will include a celebration of the new indoor softball facility, an alumni pregame recognition ceremony, the scheduled Big 12 game against Kansas and a dinner event following the game.
"It has been 10 years since the 1999 squad earned a berth in the postseason at the regional at Fresno State, then the defending national champion," commented interim head coach Amy Suiter. "This marking the 10 - year anniversary of that team's accomplishments seems like a perfect time to make a link from the past to the present. We are really looking forward to meeting some of our former players and bridging that gap. We are all very excited about the new facility and the great things going on at Texas Tech, and want to share the spotlight with the former Red Raiders who really got this program going."
The 2009 team is hoping to meet any and all former Red Raiders, even those who competed for Tech prior to the formation of the Big 12 in 1996, and would like to invite them back for the April 4 celebration. All softball alumni interested in attending and being recognized as part of a pregame celebration, should contact Julie Hauck at email@example.com to discuss details of the event. Families are always welcome.
