LAS CRUCES N.M. - LAS CRUCES N.M. - The Texas Tech Red Raider softball team won one game and lost three on the second day of play at the Troy Cox Classic Tournament at Maag Field in Las Cruces. After splitting two games on Friday the Raiders(4-14) finished out the trip with a 2-4 record.

Tech started the day with a 3-0 loss to No. 11 Oregon State. Amanda Renfro gave up two home runs and OSU's Tarrah Beyster controlled Tech's hitters, holding the Raiders to three hits.

In the second game, Penn State jumped up on Tech early, using a five run second inning to secure a victory. Ninette Martinez gave up four earned runs in 1.1 innings and took the loss. Tech's Ashley Ready went 2-for-3 and scored a run, while Amanda Douglas went 2-for-2 with an RBI.

Game 3 was an offensive explosion for Tech as they defeated McNeese State 10-0 in five innings. Amanda Renfro went the distance for Tech to earn her second win of the year. Sandy Butler went 2-for-3 with two RBI and Lynsey Haij also collected two hits and drove in a run for Tech. The 10 runs and 10 hits were both single game highs for the team in 2000.

In the night cap game against Oregon, the Raiders held a tenuous 1-0 lead until the top of the 4th inning when the Ducks capitalized on a Raider error with two outs. The Ducks took advantage of the opportunity to score three runs and hand the Red Raiders the loss. Amanda Renfro pitched the complete game and took the loss, falling to 2-8 on the season.
