March 10, 2006

Elizabeth Eimen is a freshman infielder on the Texas Tech softball team this season and has already made a mark by working her way into the starting rotation at first base. The Mannford, Okla., native entered the WSU Shocker Invitational among the team leaders this season with a .276 batting average. This week Elizabeth took some time to share her thoughts on the weekend and her first season a Red Raider.

All the traveling runs together for me.  I have no sense of time.  I just go to where I need to be when I need to be there.  Don't get me wrong it's tons of fun.  I love the airport waits because I like to watch everyone play hackey sack and to see who can get their computer to gain internet access first.

This past weekend we were at Fullerton, California.  That was a fun tournament we got to play a several ranked teams, and we were right with them all the way.  I also gained a few fun memories like the phone call from Shupp that she needed help with Alex.  Also the singing on the bus with Alex to get us to relax.  The plane ride was extra fun since I got to sit by Julie and let's say she doesn't like to be over water or hearing Emily, Devin, and Brandi's singing behind me.

It's an amazing feeling when you get to walk out onto the field with some of the top ranked teams and know it's going to be a great game and a fight to the end.  We will have many more of those feelings in Big Twelve play and don't forget post season a.k.a. The College World Series!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
