Tech Drops Final Games at San Diego Classic II|

SAN DIEGO - Texas Tech dropped its final two games at the San Diego Classic II, with a 4-1 loss to Quinnipiac, and a 6-2 loss to Northern Colorado but hopes to regroup in three more non-conference games in San Diego.
Texas Tech scored first on an error by the Bobcat first baseman to score Leah Legler who started the game with a single. Quinnipiac got two runs in the bottom of the inning to take the lead, 2-1. Tech was unable to put anymore runs across and lost the game, 1-4.
In game two, Northern Colorado got out to the early lead scoring four runs in the first inning on three Red Raider errors. Texas Tech put one on the board in the second when Elizabeth Eimen reached on a Bear error and scored on a single by Karli Merlich. Northern Colorado added another in the third to up the score to, 5-1. Tech scored again in the fifth when Skyler Peterson singled, and scored on a single by Legler to make the score, 5-2. The Bears added another run in the sixth and took the win, 6-2.
Freshman Merlich went 2-3 with an RBI, while fellow freshman Peterson also went 2-3. Legler went 1-2 with an RBI.
Texas Tech will return to action on Tuesday as it faces the Aztecs of San Diego State in a double header with the first game to begin at 7 p.m. CT. Fans can follow the action live at www.texastech.com
