LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech softball team opens up the Big 12 portion of its schedule this weekend when it takes on the Oklahoma State Cowgirls at the Recreation Intramural Fields at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 25. The two teams play again on Sunday, March 26, at the same time.

The Red Raiders (11-24) enter the game on a two-game losing skid after dropping games to New Mexico State and San Diego State last Sunday. Oklahoma State (23-10) is ranked No. 18 in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association poll.

Texas Tech is led by pitcher Amanda Renfro (8-13). Renfro is currently third in the Big 12 Conference with a 1.29 ERA and leads the conference with 21 starts. The Red Raiders will need all the pitching they can find because the Cowgirls are one of the best hitting teams in the conference, entering the weekend with a .294 team batting average.
