LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech softball team returned home last week from California riding a four game winning streak that they hope will continue against the Baylor Bears in the Big 12 Conference opener in Waco this weekend.

The Red Raiders (21-18) will take on Baylor (13-10) in a Saturday doubleheader beginning at noon. Texas Tech will be looking toward a Big 12 Championship after finishing in fourth-place last season.

Tech is being led in pitching by senior Amanda Renfro who carries a season record of 13-11 with 171 stikeouts. Leading the charge at homeplate is senior shortstop Paula Workman. Workman leads the team in hits (34), runs scored (21), walks (15), RBI's (27) and slugging percentage (.509). Workman is the only player on the team who has started in all 39 games of the season.
