LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech Red Raider softball team entertains Texas A&M on Thursday at 1 & 3 p.m. at Rocky Johnson Field, Tech's first home game since a season-opening doubleheader sweep of New Mexico State and the first games played at the new complex.

Tech holds a 5-6 record versus the Aggies since the Tech program was revived in 1996, including a 1-3 mark at home. The Aggies took both contests during the 1996 season in Lubbock, and the two teams split a twinbill in 1999, with Tech losing 5-1 in the opener before taking a 3-2 decision in the nightcap.

Last season the Red Raiders lost the opening game of the doubleheader, 2-1, in eight innings in College Station, but came back to take the second game, 8-1. Senior hurler Amanda Renfro got the decision in both games in 2000, allowing three runs, one earned, on 11 hits with seven strikeouts in the twinbill, and holds a 3-2 career mark against TAMU.

The Red Raiders continue conference action this weekend with a pair of games in Lincoln, Neb., against the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Saturday and Sunday.
