LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech head softball coach Bobby Reeves announced the signing of Amie Stines to a national letter of intent on Thursday afternoon.

Stines, a 5-11 pitcher from South Grand Prairie, Texas, plays for South Grand Prairie High School and coach Maria Schell. She has been voted all-district and first team all-area by the Arlington Morning News, as South Grand Prairie finished third in the state.

Her team last season was ranked as high as ninth by USA Today, as she compiled an 18-2 mark with 132 strikeouts last season.

Stines also plays volleyball, and was voted first team all-district this past season and honorable mention all-district as a junior. She is a member of the Student Council and the National Honor Society, as well.

The Red Raiders travel to Columbia, Mo., this weekend for a pair of games against the Missouri Tigers. Saturday and Sunday's game begins at 1 p.m.
