OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - Three Lady Raiders were placed on the 2003 Academic All-Big12 Team announced yesterday, the first day of the Phillips 66 Big 12 Softball Tournament. Seniors Amanda Douglas, Esmerelda Perez and Kristi Robles were honored as part of an elite group of 48 student-athletes.

First team member Amanda Douglas is mathematics major from Richardson, Texas. Douglas played in all regular season games in the outfield, finishing with a team second best 26 RBI. Douglas logged 11 hits in conference, starting in all 18 games.

Second team member Kristi Robles is a Human Development and Family Studies major from Morgan Hill, California. Serving as shortstop, Robles is the only Lady Raider to start in all 60 games. Robles led the team in runs with 31 and doubles with 12.

Second team member Esmerelda Perez is Sociology major from San Jose, California. Perez started in 49 games with 55 appearances in the outfield. Perez was one of five Lady Raiders to log a triple this season.

To qualify student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 60 percent of her team's scheduled contests. First team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 or better GPA, while the second time are those who have a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence.
