LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech Red Raiders (18-34, 7-10) make the trip to Oklahoma City this week for the Big 12 Conference Softball Tournament to be held at Don E. Porter Hall of Fame Stadium. The Red Raiders enter the tournament as the No. 6 seed and will face rival Texas, the No. 3 seed, in a first round match up on Thursday, May 11, at 12:30 p.m.

The tournament has a double-elimination format and runs through Saturday afternoon. The championship game will be played at 3 p.m.

In the last meeting between the teams this season, UT came to Lubbock and went home victorious by the slimmest of margins, 1-0. The game was scheduled to be a doubleheader but inclement weather forced a cancellation of the second game. Texas Tech defeated UT in a non-conference game in Hawaii on February 12 by a score of 4-0.

Since the inception of the Big 12 Tournament in 1996, Texas Tech has an all-time record of 3-6. Last season the Red Raiders advanced to the semifinals of the bracket before falling to Texas 1-0.
