Lubbock, Texas - Seven Texas Tech softball student-athletes have been named to the 1999 Academic All-Big 12 Team. Making the team were Paula Workman(shortstop), Emily Hayes(pitcher) and Stephanie McCoy(catcher).

Paula Workman is a junior high-performance management major from Spicewood, Texas. She carries the highest grade-point average on the Red Raider squad this season with a 3.9 cumulative GPA.

Emily Hayes is a senior dietetics major from Midland, Texas. Hayes carries a season pitching record of 12-10 and will be the first four-year letterman to come from Texas Tech since the softball program was restarted in 1996.

Stephanie McCoy rounds out the Red Raiders selections to the Academic All-Big 12 Team. McCoy is a junior public relations major from Albuquerque, New Mexico and is a reserve catcher for the Red Raiders.

Texas Tech had four student-athletes named to the honorable mention academic team. Senior second basemen Jenny Kohler, junior first basemen Tamara Harrington, junior Christina Munoz and sophomore Jennifer Beach were named to the honorable mention team.
