LUBBOCK, Texas - The honors continue to roll in for Texas Tech junior Amanda Renfro. The right handed pitcher from Houston was named to the All-Midwest Region Second Team on Friday, capping a season in which she set a school record with 283 strikeouts and four-no hitters. The team, which is selected by vote of coaches in the region, was announced Friday afternoon.

Renfro was a workhorse for the Red Raiders in 2000, pitching a team high 269.0 innings while sporting a 1.35 ERA. She held opposing batters to a microscopic .190 batting average, a single-season Texas Tech record and the best mark in the Big 12 this season. Twice in 2000 Renfro was honored as the Big 12 Pitcher of the Week for her exploits on the diamond. She was a Second Team All-Big 12 selection.

Renfro was the only Red Raider named to the team. Twenty of the 25 spots on the first and second teams were awarded to players from the Big 12 conference. Oklahoma led the way among Big 12 schools by placing six athletes on the squad, including five on the first team.
