LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech will close its fall softball schedule Tuesday afternoon when the Red Raiders take on cross-town Lubbock Christian in a 2:30 p.m. doubleheader at Rocky Johnson Field.
The Red Raiders and Lady Chaps met just a week ago with Tech hanging on for a 3-0 victory. Tech followed the performance with victories over West Texas A&M and Midland College later in the week to improve to 6-0 this fall.
Lubbock Christian held the Red Raiders to their fewest runs this fall in their previous meeting as Tech has plated at least eight runners in all five of their other contests. The pitching combination of Brittany Talley, Cara Custer, Gretchen Aucoin and Shannon Carrico frustrated the Lady Chap bats, though, in Tech's only shutout so far this fall.
With the two teams now playing a doubleheader, Tech will not reschedule its previously cancelled game against Odessa College after reaching the NCAA maximum of eight fall exhibition scrimmages.
Fans are encouraged to enter through the main entrance at Rocky Johnson Field as there is no admission charge for either game.
