Women's Tennis Team Loses to Lobos

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- The Texas Tech women's tennis team dropped a 6-3 match at the 9th Annual Coors Light Lady Lobo Invinte to the host New Mexico Lobos.

The Lady Red Raiders received victories from Amanda Earhart and Christine Van Regenmorter in singles, and Earhart and Eva Eguiguren in doubles action.

It was New Mexico's first match of the season, but Texas Tech dropped to 2-2 on the year.

The top Red Raiders doubles team came up just shy of victory, as Erika Fisher and Lakshmi Ravindra lost a close 8-6 match to the top Lobos doubles duo of Ana Figanovic and Joanne Shortall. Figanovic and Shortall also posted wins in the No. 1 and 2 singles slots.

Texas Tech returns to the court Saturday when it takes on Boise State in the second day of the tournament.
