Mar. 25, 1997 Texas Tech Women's Tennis Earns Another WinLUBBOCK, Texas -- The Texas Tech women's tennis team improved its record to 7-8 after defeating North Texas 6-2 today in the Athletic Training Center. The Red Raiders remain 3-4 in the Big 12 Conference. North Texas' record drops to 5-5 overall. The Red Raiders began the match by winning five of six singles matches and went on to win one of the two doubles matches that were played. "I thought we played extremely well in the first four singles positions," said Texas Tech Director of Tennis Tim Siegel. "Lakshmi (Ravindra), Eva (Eguiguren), and Amanda (Earhart) have been the backbone of this team. I am also happy with the performance of Christine (Van Regenmorter). "I am pleased with the way things are going right now. This team has had a good taste of winning against ranked teams, such as Colorado, and now is our chance to build on that. I think we have a good chance of going 5-0 in our last five matches." The Red Raiders next host Nebraska on Friday, April 4 at 1:30 p.m. and Iowa State on Sunday, April 6 at 10 a.m. North Texas hosts Centenary on Saturday, April 5 at 1 p.m.
