Texas Tech Women's Tennis Loses Conference Match
Red Raiders fall to Nebraska
LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech women's tennis team fell to Nebraska 7-2 today in the Athletic Training Center. The Red Raiders are now 7-9 overall and 3-5 in the Big 12 Conference. Nebraska improved to 13-5 overall and 3-4 in Big 12 action.
Tech started off by winning the No. 2 and No. 5 singles matches with Amanda Earhart and Christine Van Regennorter claiming victories, respectively. Nebraska went on to win all three doubles matches.
"The doubles matches were the most competitive we have ever played," said Texas Tech assistant coach Mary Dailey. "The competitiveness was a bonus for us."
"We had a lot of missed opportunities today, but Amanda played an excellent match. She hung in there to win. She is our most competitive player right now."
The Red Raiders will next be in action when they host Iowa State on Saturday at 10 a.m. in thye Athletic Training Center. Nebraska hosts Baylor on Saturday, April 12 at 10 a.m.
