WOMEN'S TENNIS DROPS MATCH TO DENVER|

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech women's tennis squad dropped a 7-0 decision to Denver on Sunday in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Denver won the doubles point and all three matches. The No. 1 doubles team of Samantha van der Drift and Kelsey Garland dropped a close decision 8-2 (2) to Julia Bauregger and Mallory Voelker. Kyla Iwinski and Ute Schnot defeated No. 2 Kerryn Poptgieter and Simone Templeton 8-0 in the second match and Annette Aksdal and Bhavani Tirumurti beat Natalie Leitch and Sefanie Peana 8-2 in the final double match at the No. 3 position.
The single matches didn't go in the favor of the Lady Raiders either. Playing in the No. 1 position Van der Drift suffered her first loss of the season to Mallory Voelker 7-5, 6-3. No. 2 player Kelsey Garland lost 6-4, 6-3, to Annette Aksdal and playing in the No. 3 spot Simone Templeton fell 6-2, 6-1. Julia Bauregger beat Natalie Leitch 6-0, 6-4 in the No. 4 position. No. 5 Stefanie Peana dropped a clost match with Kyla Iwinski 7-5, 4-6, 10-7, and Bhavani Tirumurti completed the sweep as she defeated No. 6 player Kerryn Potgieter 6-1, 6-1.
Tech will host Arizona on Fri., Feb. 13, at 2 p.m. and Rice at 11 a.m. on Sun., Feb. 15.
