LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech loses a tough battle against the University of Houston, 5-2. The Lady Raiders wrapped up a tough weekend in Houston today.

Erin Hunter and Janet Durham teamed up to defeat Brianna Bateup and Sarah Reimer, 8-6. The doubles team of Tara Browning and Cigdem Duru fell to Yolandi Terblanche and Biljana Dimovska in a tough battle, 9-8, 7-2. Lakann Wagley and Katja Kovacic were defeated by Diana Martin and Kami Miller, 8-5.

In singles play, Duru was defeated by Biljana Dimovska, 7-6, 6-3, at position number one, while Browning lost to Diana Martin, 4-6, 6-4, 10-6, in position number two. In position number three, Durham lost to Brianna Bateup, 6-2, 6-4, and in position number four, Kami Miller bested Hunter, 6-3, 6-1. In position number five, Kovacic defeated Yolandi Terblanche, 6-2, 6-0, while at the number six position Amandine Ferot beat Tiffany McLoughlin, 6-2, 6-0.

"We played really good matches against very good opponets," said assistant coach Kendall Brooks. "The team fought hard and walks away with something to build on."

The Lady Raiders have a break and hit the road again Fri., Feb. 25-Feb. 27. Tech will be traveling to Las Vegas, Nev. to participate in the UNLV Invitational.
